BEPS MLI Parties are States and jurisdictions for which the instrument is in force (Article 2(1)(b) of the BEPS MLI). This note covers the differences in the length of time (number of days) it took for signatories to become Parties, and the current numbers for Parties and non-Parties.
1. Length of the Period from Signature to Entry into Force
The BEPS MLI enters into force for a jurisdiction that has, after signing the instrument, completed its domestic procedures for ratifying, accepting, or approving the instrument, and then deposited the instrument of ratification, acceptance, or approval with the OECD. In view of the variations in the time lengths required for completing such procedures, the full length of the period from the date of signature by each Party to the date of entry into force for that Party differs for each jurisdiction (Figure 1).
